The carte de visite was a popular 19th-century photographic format that included portraits of sitters, served as visiting and business cards, and was used as an advertisement for photo studios. They were traded among friends, collected in albums, displayed on walls and shelves in homes, included in books' frontispieces and exhibited in photo studios' window displays. Each carte de visite was a complex medium of self-promotion and popularization of the photographic portrait and may be regarded as an early form of social media.

Curated by the 2026 Spring Galleries Practices Class taught by Austin Pratt, Crossroads features artwork about journeys and pathways - both literal and metaphorical. Crossroads is a reflection on the path of life, road trips and travel. This group exhibition features work about the people and things we find and meet in our lives and considers the journey as important as the destination.

Wild Flower House pairs the paper-based work of Zach Clark and D. Stevens. Together, this work represents a kind of skepticism of images, combined with a resourcefulness and direct approach to art-making found in both of their practices. Clark's snapshot photography and Stevens' casual drawing hand demonstrate an immediacy of voice, while Stevens' razor-sharp collage compositions and Clark's skilled risograph print knowledge share a sustained and sophisticated craft.
